LOS ANGELES— The SIM Group has appointed former Kodak executive Graeme
Parcher as General Manager of the Los Angeles office of its SIM Digital
division, a supplier of camera systems and related gear to motion picture and
television productions. Parcher will oversee operations; manage relations with
studios, independent producers and other key clients; and develop strategies
for growth.
“Graeme is a talented and creative executive with strong
ties to the production community in Southern California and beyond,” said SIM
Group James Martin. “His appointment is part of our commitment to expand our
share of the production rental market in Los Angeles.”

Ann DeGuire, President of SIM Group’s Camera Division added
that Parcher’s deep knowledge of production and post makes him an excellent
resource for directors, cinematographers and producers. “He’s an excellent choice
to lead our team in Southern California and help our clients make smart choices
when planning their productions,” she said.
SIM Group is planning to move its SIM Digital, Los Angeles,
operations to larger quarters in the former Eastman Kodak building off Las
Palmas in Hollywood. The site will also be the new home of SIM Group companies
Bling Digital, a specialist in workflow services, and Chainsaw, a provider of
editorial and post production services. “Collectively, our companies cover the
production pipeline from image capture to finish,” noted Martin. “It’s a unique
value proposition and it gives us a significant competitive edge over suppliers
who only address one aspect of the production cycle.”
Parcher most recently served as Worldwide General Manager
and Vice President of Entertainment Imaging for Eastman Kodak, where he co-led
a division with 200 employees and $600 million in annual revenue. In discussing
his new role, Parcher said he was impressed by the growth SIM Group has
experienced over the past several years, which has included an expansion of its
presence in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto and other markets, with moves into
lighting and grip rentals, post-production services, workflow management, and
other service areas. “I’m excited by the company’s direction and opportunities
for further growth,” he said.
Parcher’s tenure at Kodak spanned three years. Previously,
he spent ten years at FujiFilm, ultimately in the role of Group Vice President
of North American operations. His background also includes a senior sales
position with Panavision. “Throughout my career, I’ve had strong working
relationships with studios and independent producers and I look forward to
reinvigorating those ties,” he said. “I am eager to introduce my old friends
and associates to the exciting things we are doing at SIM.”
