TORONTO —Continuing their
long-standing support of independent film, SIM Group companies provided
production and post-production services for 11 films debuting next month at the
41st Toronto International Film Festival.
SIM Digital and PS
Production Services
provided camera systems, and lighting and grip packages
for five films screening at TIFF. They include Below Her Mouth, Canadian
actor-director April Mullen’s story of an unexpected romance between two women;
Maudie¸
Aisling Walsh’s true-life story about a woman with rheumatoid arthritis who
becomes a celebrated folk artist; Unless, Alan Gilsenan’s story of a
writer who discovers her runaway daughter panhandling on the street; ARQ,
Orphan Black screenwriter Tony
Eliott’s director debut about a husband and wife caught in a time loop; and Brain
on Fire
, the story of a rising journalist at The New York Post who
descends into madness after mysterious seizures plague her.

Tattersall Sound & Picture,
Toronto, provided sound services for
four TIFF films, including Anatomy of Violence, celebrated
Indian filmmaker Deepa Mehta’s documentary about the 2012 gang rape and murder
of a 23-year-old woman on a Delhi bus; Black Code, Nicholas de Pencier’s
examination of the internet’s impact on free speech, privacy and activism; Burn
Your Maps
, by filmmaker Jordan Roberts (screenwriter of Big Hero 6, Happy Feet) a poignant story about love and loss, and Below
Her Mouth
. Tattersall Sound & Picture also provided editorial
systems and suites for Mean Dreams, Nathan Morlando’s powerful film about two teens from troubled homes
in a small rural community. (Sim Digital also provided camera).

Bling Digital, Toronto,
provided playback services for The Headhunter’s Calling¸ Mark
Williams’ story of a ruthless corporate recruiter whose family tragedy brings
his personal and professional lives into conflict, while Bling Digital,
Vancouver provided playback services for Brain on Fire.

Recently
added to the slate of premieres is Birth of the Dragon, the true story
that revolves around the young martial artist Bruce Lee. PS Production Services provided grip and lighting, and Bling Digital provided offline rentals.
