Studio’s work for PIX11 garners top honors in three categories; its unique picture LP also honored.
DALLAS— Stephen Arnold Music recently picked up four awards—three Gold and one Silver—at the annual Promax Station Summit Awards in Las Vegas. The sonic branding and music studio won Gold for Sports Program Spot, Original Music in a Promo, and Musical or Instrumental Theme With or Without Vocals for Game On, an upbeat promotional campaign for PIX11, the CW TV station in New York City. The studio’s Silver Award came for its custom-designed picture LP The World Leader in Sonic Branding.
PIX11’s “Game On” was part of a promo campaign for the station’s coverage of baseball’s Yankees and Mets. The track features an edgy blend of modern musical styles, catchy hooks and multi-vocal performances. Stephen Arnold Music worked closely with PIX11’s Dave McDonald, Manager of On-Air Promotion/Creative Services, who composed the lyrics for the song.
Stephen Arnold Music’s Silver Award-winning The World Leader in Sonic Branding is a striking picture LP designed as a keepsake. “It’s a throwback idea to the ‘50s incorporating a breezy, modern vibe – and it actually includes our playable demo reel in its grooves,” explains Marketing and Creative Director Dave Baumann. “It was also intended as wall decor, keeping our brand front and center with those who appreciate its message and artistry. The insert features our staff, as well as maps and charts denoting the variety and locations of our national and international clients.”
The Vault, Stephen Arnold Music’s production music library, also enjoyed a big night as it contributed music to other promos that won awards in ten categories. They included multiple spots for television stations WTVR, Richmond; KMGH, Denver; and WTVF, Nashville. They included KMGH’s Denver 7 Behind the Scenes, a Gold Award winner for Behind-the-Scenes Promotion and WTVR’s Comic Book Heroes Among Us!, a Silver Award winner for Image Promo.
Later that afternoon, after the awards ceremony, Stephen Arnold Music sponsored a “N.E.W.S. Guitar Giveaway.” Four attendees took home classic guitars named for the points on the compass. David Herman of NBC LX won an Epiphone Sheraton 2 Pro (North), Veronica Garcia from Marshall Advertising won a Gibson Les Paul Jr. (East); Ashton Sosnowski of WSET-TV, Lynchburg won a Fender Stratocaster in Surf Green (West), and Danielle Ray of KMOV, St. Louis won a Fender Stratocaster SRV (Stevie Ray Vaughn) Tribute (South).
