Continuing its association with 20th Century Fox’ acclaimed X-Men franchise, Rising Sun Pictures contributed nearly 150 visual effects shots to the latest film in the superhero saga, Dark Phoenix.
Former Rising Sun Pictures artist Jeremy Kelly-Bakker has received investment funding from Screen Australia to develop his short film, Lucy and DiC, into a web series through We Made a Thing Studios, the production company he formed with partner Tom Phillips.
Russel Balugo successfully completed The RSP / UniSA Graduate Certificate program in Dynamic Effects and Lighting earlier this year. A short time later, he accepted a position as a 3D generalist at Rotor Studios, a live action and production studio in Sydney that has produced award-winning work for Toyota and other international brands.
In a project spanning six months, Rising Sun Pictures produced 86 visual effects shots for Animal World, the new fantasy adventure film that debuted to considerable fanfare at this year’s Shanghai International Film Festival and is currently in international release.
Renegade Animation co-founder and executive producer Ashley Postlewaite will take part in the panel discussion Extraordinary Women, Extraordinary Animation at Comic-Con International 2018 in San Diego.
