The Los Angeles Section of the Audio Engineering Society (AES) and the Hollywood Section of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers® (SMPTE®) will host a joint meeting this month exploring sound production for Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation’s Golden Globe®-winning feature film Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse.
Twenty years ago, Sound Lounge was born out of a desire to create something that did not exist in the audio post-production community. Tom Jucarone, Peter Holcomb and Marshall Grupp imagined an artist-owned studio that put a premium on excellence in everything related to sound, but with a laid-back, friendly vibe.
Sound production for Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animations’ feature film Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse, which has received critical acclaim including a Golden Globe nomination and a New York Film Critics Circle win for “Best Animated Feature” and a Los Angeles Film Critics Association win for “Best Animation,” was completed on the Sony Pictures studio lot in Culver City.
The Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) today announces Supervising Sound Editor Stephen H. Flick as recipient of its 2018 MPSE Career Achievement Award.
Sound Lounge helped capture the horror of gun violence for the video The Most Vicious Cycle produced by the student organization March for Our Lives and New York ad agency McCann.
Sound Lounge is expanding its Film + Television division, which provides sound editorial, ADR and mixing services for episodic television, features and documentaries. The studio is upgrading the division’s main mix stage to support editing and mixing in the immersive Dolby Atmos format.
